Classes for every gymnast in the SouthShore
Every gymnast has a place here. From awalker's first tumble to adult and adaptive gymnastics, with competitive team pathways up to Level 10.
Preschool gymnastics
Independent and parent-assisted classes for ages walker through five. Building body awareness and confidence in motion on smaller equipment.
Diaper Daredevils
For walkers through age 3 with a parent or caregiver.
Gymnasts learn basic body shapes and balance through stations and obstacle courses on smaller equipment. First introduction to all the apparatus.
Ages: Walker to 3


Sunbeams
First independent class. For ages 3 to 4 ready to be on the floor without a parent. Top skills include balance, swinging, jumping, and gymnastics basics on lowered equipment.
Ages: 3 to 4
Sunrays
For independent 4 and 5 year olds ready for big kid
gymnastics. Boys and girls work on both girls and boys apparatus at lowered heights


Golden Rays
The bridge between preschool and big kid classes. For
gymnasts ready to move beyond Sunrays with more independence and skill expectation.
Recreational girls
Skill progression classes for girls ages 6 and up. Gymnasts work on Beam, Bars, Floor, and Vault, moving up as they pass skill checks.
Rookies
Starting class for girls ages 6 and up. Gymnasts learn basics on all four events: Beam, Bars, Floor, and Vault. Two days per week recommended for steady progression.
Ages: 6 and up


Beginner
For girls who have moved past Rookies. Top skills include cartwheels, beginning handstands, bridge kickovers, basic bar casts, and beam walks with turns.
Ages: 6 and up
Intermediate
For girls who have moved past Beginner. Top skills include round-offs, back walkovers, back hip circle on bars, handstands on beam, and improving vault entries.
Ages: 6 and up


Advanced Girls
Invitation only. For girls who have mastered Intermediate skills and are on the way to Pre-Team. Top skills include kip drills, back handspring progressions, back walkover on beam, and
refined tumbling passes. Younger and older sections available.
Ages: 6 and up
Recreational boys
Boys learn the six MAG events through age-appropriate stations
and progressions.

Stingray Boys
Recreational gymnastics for younger boys. Top skills include body shapes, forward and backward rolls, beginning handstands, swinging on rings, and basic supports on parallel bars.
Ages: 6 - 8
Tarpon Boys
Recreational gymnastics for older boys. Top skills include cartwheels, handstand progressions, ring strength work, pommel swings, and parallel bar swinging supports.
Ages: 9 and up

Teen/Tween Girls
Gymnastics for teen girls who want to learn for the first time or continue training. Top skills include floor tumbling progressions, beam work, bar conditioning, and vault basics. Class energy matches the age group.
Ages: 11 to 17
Homeschool Gymnastics
Daytime gymnastics for homeschool families. Boys and girls train together with progression-based instruction across both girls and boys apparatus. Small group size, focused coaching during school hours.
Adult Gymnastics
For adults 18 and up, from first-time learners to returning gymnasts. Classes work on tumbling, conditioning, flexibility, and apparatus skills at adult-appropriate progression. ABGA is one of the few SouthShore gyms running an adult program.
HUGS
Helping Us Grow Strong. ABGA's named adaptive program for athletes of all abilities. Coaches trained to support diverse needs in a fully inclusive training environment.
Special Olympics Gymnastics
Competitive Special Olympics gymnastics. ABGA is the only gym in the SouthShore running a Special Olympics gymnastics program for athletes pursuing competition.
Pre-Team and competitive teams
When you're ready to compete, Pre-Team is the next step. ABGA's full team pathway runs through Level 10 with USAG and AAU competition.
