AAU and USAG pathways, Pre-Team through Level 10. Boys and girls competitive gymnastics in Gibsonton, Florida. Family-coached training that takes competition seriously without taking the kid out of the gymnast.
Girls Pre-Team and Compulsory Levels
First team experience through entry-level competition.
Athletes can compete USAG or AAU.

Pre-Team girls under age 6
Introduction to team training for young gymnasts ready to
train more than two days a week. Top skills include body shapes,
forward and backward rolls, bridges, and beginning handstands.
Foundation work for the years ahead.
Pre-Team girls ages 6 and up
Pre-competitive training for older starters. Top skills
include round-off drills, walkovers, bridge kickovers, bar
pullovers and casts, and beam basics. Two or three days a week,
building toward first competitive levels.


Girls Level 1 and 2 team (USAG or AAU)
First competitive routines. Top skills include cartwheels
and handstand bridges on floor, pullover-cast on bars, beam walks,
and basic jumps. Athletes compete USAG or AAU at entry-level meets.
Girls Level 3 to 5 team (USAG or AAU)
Advancing compulsory routines. Top skills include back
handspring on floor, kip on bars, back walkover on beam, and front handspring vault. Routines are set by the federation, with athletes competing USAG or AAU.

Girls Teams The Xcel Pathway
The USAG Xcel program at ABGA runs from Bronze through
Platinum, with flexible routine composition at each level.

Girls Xcel Bronze
Entry into the Xcel program. Top skills include cartwheel on
beam, mill circle on bars, scales, and beam mounts and dismounts.
Xcel routines have more flexibility in skill choice than compulsory.
Girls Xcel Silver
Building Xcel skills. Top skills include back walkover, front
limber, back hip circle on bars, and handstand and turns on beam.
Athletes work on difficulty and presentation.


Girls Xcel Gold
Advancing Xcel. Top skills include round-off back handspring
on floor, kip on bars, back walkover on beam, and front handspring
vault.
Girls Xcel Platinum
Top Xcel level at ABGA. Top skills include round-off back
handspring back tuck, advanced bar work, back handspring on beam,
and a higher-difficulty vault.


Girls Level 6 to 10 team (USAG or AAU)
Optional
Top competing levels at ABGA. Top skills include giants on
bars, twisting tumbling passes, acro series on beam, and advanced
vaulting. Athletes pursue scholarships and high-level meets in USAG
or AAU.
Boys Teams
ABGA boys progress from first team class through Level 10.
Athletes compete USAG or AAU, with Level 7 as the qualifying
level for Eastern Nationals.

Pre-Team boys
Introduction to Men's Artistic Gymnastics training across
all six events. Top skills include forward and backward rolls,
cartwheels, handstand drills, swinging on rings, and basic
supports on parallel bars. Building strength and body awareness
for the team commitment ahead.
Level 3 boys
Developmental compulsory routines across all six MAG events.
Top skills include cartwheel and handstand on floor, basic ring
support, leg swings on pommel horse, front handspring vault, and
support holds on parallel bars.


Level 4 boys
Entry compulsory level. Top skills include handstand forward
roll on floor, back lever on rings, scissors on pommel horse, front
handspring vault, and pullover on high bar. Athletes compete USAG
and AAU compulsory routines.
Level 5 and 6 boys
Advancing compulsory across all six MAG events. Top skills
include back tucks on floor, more difficult ring work, advancing
pommel skills, vaulting with first twists, and increased high bar
work.


Level 7 boys
Optional
First optional level for boys. ABGA's first Eastern Nationals
qualifier competed at this level. Top skills include round-off back
handspring back tuck on floor, ring elements with dislocates,
pommel circles, optional vault, parallel bar swings to handstand,
and giants on high bar.
Level 8 to 10 boys
Optional
Top competing levels for boys at ABGA. Top skills include
twisting tumbling on floor, advanced ring strength and dismounts,
complex pommel element flow, vaults with multiple twists, and full
giants with releases on high bar.
